The Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO) and the Public Works Department (PWD) have jointly launched an infrastructure development programme to upgrade approximately 205 km of industrial roads across key industrial centres in Rajasthan, with an estimated investment of around ₹291 crore.
The initiative is aimed at enhancing connectivity to industrial areas, improving logistics efficiency, and supporting the state’s growing industrial ecosystem. Under the programme, 38 approach roads serving RIICO-developed industrial zones will undergo widening and strengthening works to facilitate smoother movement of goods and improve access to manufacturing and business hubs.
The project covers multiple industrial regions across Rajasthan, including Abu Road, Ajmer, Balotra, Banswara, Bharatpur, Bhilwara, Churu, Dausa, Jaipur, Jalore, Jhalawar, Kota, Neemrana, Sawai Madhopur, Sri Ganganagar, and Udaipur. The roads fall under the jurisdiction of the PWD and will be developed through a 50:50 cost-sharing arrangement between RIICO and the department.
Administrative and financial approvals for the project have already been secured, and the tendering process is expected to commence shortly. RIICO has contributed its share of funding for the initial phase, while PWD will be responsible for executing the construction, widening, and strengthening works.
In addition to the road infrastructure programme, the Rajasthan government has approved an additional ₹143 crore for upgrading drinking water infrastructure in industrial areas across the state. Together, these initiatives are expected to improve industrial infrastructure, enhance operational efficiency for businesses, and support long-term economic and industrial growth in Rajasthan.
