Investing in Knowledge: CPWD's ₹115 Cr University Expansion

The Central Public Works Department (CPWD) has issued a tender for the construction of four academic buildings at the Central University of South Bihar, Gaya, under the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) model.

The project involves the development of the following facilities:

School of Law & Governance (G+2 floors)

School of Business Studies & Management (G+1 floor)

School of Health Science (G+1 floor)

School of Physical & Chemical Sciences (G+2 floors)

Each building will be constructed with provisions for an additional floor in the future. The scope of work includes installation of lifts, internal and external water supply, sanitary and drainage systems, stormwater management, roads and pathways, parking facilities, internal electrical works, street lighting, fire safety systems (including firefighting and alarm systems), UPS, substation, LAN, and solar power infrastructure (photovoltaic panels), among other amenities.

The estimated project cost is ₹115.73 crore, with a completion timeline of 19 months. A one-year defect liability period will follow the completion. The last date for submission of bids is June 10, 2025.
