Ayodhya to Host World's First Global Temple Museum

Construction is set to commence next month on a one-of-a-kind Temple Architecture Museum in Ayodhya, designed to celebrate and explore the design, history, and cultural importance of temples from across the globe.

The project is being led by Tata Sons in collaboration with the Union Ministry of Culture and the Government of Uttar Pradesh. The museum will be situated in Manjha Jamtara village, on a 35-acre site allocated by the state government and leased to Tata Sons at a nominal rate of Re 1 per year for 90 years.

Touted as the first initiative of its kind, the museum will also serve as a showcase for Sanatan culture through a rich array of global temple architectural styles. The goal is to develop a world-class cultural and tourist destination in Ayodhya.

Vinayak Deshpande, who played a pivotal role in the construction of India's new Parliament building, will serve as mentor for the project. Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran recently visited Ayodhya with the project team and met with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Preparatory activities are currently underway, with on-site construction expected to begin in the coming month.
