Kilpauk Medical College's New Hospital Tower in Chennai

Kilpauk Medical College and Hospital is on the brink of a significant upgrade with the near completion of a new hospital tower. Health Minister Ma Subramanian, after a recent campus inspection in Chennai, announced that Chief Minister M K Stalin would soon inaugurate the state-of-the-art facility.

The new building, funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), represents a substantial investment of around 358.87 Crores. Spanning a built-up area of 2.6 lakh square feet, the tower is designed to enhance the hospital's capacity and capabilities significantly.

With 441 beds, the new facility will be equipped with thirteen operation theatres, including advanced hybrid ones. These theatres will support a wide range of surgical procedures, elevating the hospital's service standards and patient care.

The tower will also feature modern diagnostic facilities, such as MRI and digital X-ray machines, ensuring comprehensive medical care under one roof. This addition is poised to meet the growing healthcare needs of the region efficiently.

The new hospital tower at Kilpauk Medical College and Hospital is expected to be fully operational by September 2024, marking a major milestone in the institution's ongoing development and commitment to quality healthcare.
