Uttar Pradesh has received the green light to establish seven new medical colleges in Bijnor, Bulandshahr, Kushinagar, Pilibhit, Sultanpur, Kanpur Dehat, and Lalitpur, adding a total of 600 MBBS seats. This expansion is part of the state’s efforts to enhance medical education and healthcare infrastructure.
Furthermore, the government medical colleges in Agra and Meerut have increased their seat capacity by 72 and 50, respectively. This brings Agra Medical College's total to 200 seats and Meerut Medical College's to 150 seats, significantly boosting the availability of medical education in these regions.
In addition to the government colleges, three new colleges under the public-private-partnership (PPP) mode in Shamli, Maharajganj, and Sambhal have been approved, offering 150, 150, and 50 MBBS seats, respectively. The NMC has also approved an increase in seats at a private medical college in Hapur.
