HG Infra Engineering Ltd has received a Letter of Intent (LoI) from REC Power Development and Consultancy Ltd (RECPDCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of REC Ltd, for the development of the WR-ER Inter-Regional Network Expansion Scheme – Part C in Jharkhand.
The project has been awarded through the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) route, under which HG Infra emerged as the successful bidder. RECPDCL acted as the bid process coordinator for the project, overseeing the competitive bidding process aimed at ensuring transparency and efficient development of transmission infrastructure.
The transmission scheme is designed to strengthen power connectivity between India’s western and eastern regions, enhancing the capacity and reliability of the national electricity grid. The project is expected to improve power transfer capability, optimize grid operations, and facilitate more efficient electricity flow across states.
The development is also expected to support the integration of increasing renewable energy capacity into the national grid, an area of growing importance as India accelerates its clean energy transition. By strengthening inter-regional transmission infrastructure, the project will help accommodate variable renewable power generation while ensuring stable and reliable electricity supply.
The award further expands HG Infra Engineering’s presence in the energy infrastructure sector and adds to its portfolio of large-scale utility and transmission projects.
The project aligns with the Government of India’s broader objective of creating a robust and interconnected national power network capable of meeting rising electricity demand, improving energy security, and supporting the large-scale integration of renewable energy resources across the country.
