Thermax Babcock & Wilcox Energy Solutions (TBWES), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Thermax, has secured a significant contract worth Rs 513 crore from Jindal Energy Botswana Pty Ltd. This order involves the supply of two 550 TPH circulating fluidised bed combustion (CFBC) boilers for a 600 MW greenfield energy project in Botswana. The first phase of this project will see the establishment of a 300 MW power station.
Over a span of 23 months, TBWES will handle the design, engineering, manufacturing, testing, and supply of the boilers. Additionally, they will supervise the erection, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and performance testing. This comprehensive scope of work highlights TBWES's expertise in delivering end-to-end solutions for large-scale energy projects.
The power generated from these boilers is intended for sale to Botswana's national utility power company, addressing the country's growing power needs. Ashish Bhandari, Managing Director and CEO of Thermax, expressed pride in supporting Botswana's power generation efforts, emphasizing TBWES's commitment to lower emissions, reduced operating costs, and higher reliability in the power sector.
Thermax’s experience in boiler manufacturing and energy solutions continues to drive its success in international markets, reinforcing its position as a key player in the global energy sector.
