Harike Headworks: The ₹573 Cr. Irrigation Leap.

The Water Resources Department, Punjab, has issued an expression of interest (EOI) for enhancing the capacity of the Harike headworks to improve irrigation efficiency and water storage capability.

The project, estimated at Rs 573.16 crore, focuses on upgrading existing infrastructure—including canal systems and water regulation mechanisms—to optimise water flow and increase storage capacity. This initiative aims to support sustainable water management and ensure a reliable supply for agriculture across Punjab’s key farming regions.

The deadline for submitting the EOI is 11 December 2025.
