JSW Infra wins contract to build Chennai cargo terminal

JSW Infrastructure has secured a significant contract from Southern Railway, Chennai Division, for the construction of the Gati Shakti Multi-Modal Cargo Terminal (GCT) at Arakkonam, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

The project, set to commence within three months of approval, will be constructed and operated entirely on Railway land. JSW Infrastructure aims to complete the construction within 18 months from the approval date.

The land for the terminal will be licensed to JSW Infrastructure for 35 years, ensuring a long-term commitment to the region's logistics infrastructure.

This development is a critical step towards JSW Infrastructure's vision of creating an efficient pan-India logistics network, enhancing last-mile connectivity across the country.

The new terminal at Arakkonam is poised to bolster the company's efforts in scaling up its logistics capabilities, marking a milestone in their expansion strategy.
