Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Ltd (MEIL) has secured a ₹545.15-crore contract from the Vidarbha Irrigation Development Corporation for heritage conservation works linked to the Jigaon irrigation project in Maharashtra.
The scope of the contract includes the construction of a protection wall, approach road, and allied infrastructure for the conservation and preservation of the ancient Bhon cultural site, located in the submerged area of the Jigaon project at Bhon village, Taluka Sangrampur, Buldhana district.
The project is scheduled for completion within a 36-month timeframe. The initiative aims to safeguard the historical and cultural heritage of the Bhon region, which has been impacted by the ongoing irrigation development.
Under the contract, Megha Engineering will be responsible for executing all necessary infrastructure works to protect and preserve the heritage site, ensuring its long-term conservation alongside regional water infrastructure development.
