MP’s New Mining Era: HCL Takes the Lead at Baghwari-Khirkhori

Hindustan Copper Ltd (HCL) has been declared the preferred bidder for the mining lease and composite licence of the Baghwari-Khirkhori copper and associated mineral block in Madhya Pradesh.

The forward e-auction for the composite licence, conducted by the Directorate of Geology and Mining, Madhya Pradesh, concluded successfully on 22 January 2026. HCL emerged as the highest bidder, securing the lease with its final offer.

The win represents a key milestone for HCL as it expands its mining operations in the region.
