L&T, a leading engineering and construction group, has announced several Power Transmission & Distribution (PT&D) commercial successes on the local and international front. The corporation recently won many major energy contracts, expanding its global footprint.
L&T's PT&D division won two floating solar plant contracts in India, a departure from ground-mounted solar. These unique systems use solar modules on floating structures atop reservoirs or lakes, saving land and reducing civil work. Such projects reduce water evaporation and provide site-specific benefits.
L&T's PT&D vertical has won orders to build transmission lines and a gas-insulated substation for Rajasthan and Karnataka solar energy zones. These infrastructural projects enable renewable energy evacuation and distribution across Indian load centers.
L&T has expanded internationally with an order to build a gas-insulated substation in Oman. Oman's ambitious 400 kV national grid project includes this project. L&T will build a 400 kV overhead transmission line and two grid stations as part of this connectivity and grid-strengthening effort.
L&T also signed contracts to build two substations and related works in the UAE. These projects demonstrate the company's expanding prominence in the Middle East and its dedication to comprehensive engineering solutions.
Larsen & Toubro, valued at $23 billion, specializes in EPC projects, sophisticated manufacturing, and services. The recent orders in India and abroad demonstrate L&T's leadership in power transmission and distribution and complex engineering projects worldwide.
