Ircon International has secured a contract variation order worth Rs 59.44 crore from Northeast Frontier Railway, significantly expanding the scope and value of its ongoing infrastructure work on the Jiribam-Khongsang section of the Jiribam–Imphal new railway line project.
This additional order focuses on the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of an integrated tunnel communication system and an OFC-based industrial-grade network system. The variation will specifically cover the Khongsang–Awangkhul section, which includes essential infrastructure for both tunnels and railway stations along the stretch.
As a result of this enhancement, the total contract value has been revised from the original Rs 144.17 crore to approximately Rs 203.61 crore. Ircon is expected to complete the work under this variation order by 30 June 2025 as part of a domestic works contract.
The Jiribam–Imphal railway line is a vital infrastructure project aimed at improving connectivity and stimulating growth in Manipur and the broader Northeastern region.
