RVNL Bags $144 Cr Railway Upgrade for South Central Line

Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has received a Letter of Award (LoA) from South Central Railway for the upgradation of overhead equipment (OHE) in the Ramagundam (RDM)–Kazipet (KZJ) section of the Secunderabad Division.

The project involves the design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of an upgraded traction system, converting the existing 1x25 kV setup to a 2x25 kV system. The scope also includes feeder and earthing works across 92 route kilometers (RKM) or 276 track kilometers (TKM).

Valued at ₹144.44 crore, the project is scheduled for completion within 18 months. This initiative forms part of South Central Railway’s broader modernization and electrification program aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, reliability, and safety across the network.
