Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has won a ₹191.53 crore contract from South Eastern Railway, solidifying its role as a key player in India's railway infrastructure development. The contract involves the design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of 132 KV traction sectioning posts (SPs) and sub-sectioning posts (SSPs) in a 2x25KV system. This project will take place on the Raj Khaswan, Nayagarh-Bolani section of the Chakradharpur division, aiming to support a 3000 MT loading target on an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) mode basis.
With a tight deadline of 18 months, RVNL is set to deliver this crucial electrification project, which is part of a broader effort to enhance the efficiency and capacity of the South Eastern Railway. The project not only represents a significant step in modernizing the railway infrastructure in this region but also underscores RVNL's capabilities in handling complex and high-stakes railway electrification projects.
RVNL's recent achievements further bolster its reputation in the infrastructure sector. In May 2024, the company secured several high-value contracts, including a ₹187 crore deal with Nagpur Metro, a ₹72.7 crore project with Northern Railway, and a ₹239 crore contract with Southern Railway. These wins highlight RVNL's expanding footprint in both railway and metro projects across India.
One of RVNL’s notable recent accomplishments includes securing a major ₹440 crore contract from South Central Railway. This project involves comprehensive electrification and signaling works for the Aurangabad-Ankai doubling project in the Nanded division, demonstrating RVNL’s expertise in delivering large-scale railway projects.
As the construction arm of Indian Railways, RVNL specializes in executing diverse infrastructure projects, from new railway lines and track doubling to metro projects and major bridge construction. This latest contract further cements RVNL’s position as a leader in railway infrastructure, contributing significantly to India’s transportation development.
