Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has won a ₹132.59 crore contract from Central Railway for a major overhead modification project. The project involves upgrading the current 1 x 25 kV electric traction system to a more robust 2 x 25 kV AT feeding system in the Wardha-Ballarshah section of the Nagpur division.
This upgrade is essential to support a 3,000 MT loading target, significantly enhancing the capacity of the existing traction system. The project is expected to be completed within 24 months, marking a critical improvement in the region's railway infrastructure.
RVNL's strong financial performance underpins its ability to manage such large-scale projects. In Q4 FY24, the company reported a 33.16% increase in consolidated net profit, reaching ₹478.40 crore, alongside a 17.38% rise in revenue from operations, which totaled ₹6,714.01 crore.
Known for its expertise in railway infrastructure, RVNL has a proven track record in executing complex projects, including new railway lines, track doubling, gauge conversion, electrification, and more. This latest contract further cements its position as a leader in the industry.
The successful execution of this project will not only enhance the railway's operational efficiency but also contribute to RVNL's growing portfolio of significant infrastructure accomplishments.
