Titagarh Triumphs: Wins ₹1,598-Crore Mumbai Metro Deal

Titagarh Rail Systems has won a Rs 1,598.55-crore contract as a specialised subcontractor for Mumbai Metro Line 6, following a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) issued by NCC on 2 August 2025.

The contract covers the design, manufacture, supply, installation, integration, testing, and commissioning of 18 six-car metro trains—a total of 108 coaches—for the Swami Samarth Nagar to Vikhroli (Eastern Express Highway) corridor.

Key highlights of the contract:

Design-build period: 24 months, Defect Liability Maintenance Period (DLMP): 2 years Comprehensive maintenance: 5 years post-DLMP

The rolling stock will feature advanced technology to ensure passenger comfort, safety, and operational efficiency, aligning with the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority's (MMRDA) commitment to sustainable and modern urban mobility.
