Crompton Bags ₹445 Cr Solar Win in Andhra Pradesh

Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd (CGCEL) has secured a ₹445.03 crore tender from the New & Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (NREDCAP) to implement solar rooftop systems under the PM-Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojna.

In a regulatory filing, the company stated that the project aims to solarize over 40,000 households in Andhra Pradesh with 2 KW on-grid rooftop systems, representing a total capacity of 77.40 MWp.

CGCEL has received a letter of award for engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contracts, covering design, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, and five years of operations and maintenance. The initiative includes the solarisation of 38,699 Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe households through a utility-led aggregation model in collaboration with Andhra Pradesh DISCOMs.

The company expects to complete the project within six months, reinforcing its commitment to advancing renewable energy adoption in India.
