The Samastipur division of East Central Railway in Bihar has invited bids for the installation of 10 MW ground-mounted solar power projects. The projects are to be developed in capacities ranging from above 500 kW to 5 MW, with bids accepted for one or all capacities.
Successful bidders must complete the projects within 240 days and provide 25 years of operation and maintenance services. The bidding documents cost ₹34,810, and an earnest money deposit of ₹1.07 million per MW is required. The deadline for bid submission is July 18, 2024.
The selected bidders will enter into a 25-year power purchase agreement with the Railways. Experience in installing at least 500 kW of grid-connected solar projects and a turnover of ₹100 million over the past three years are required. Only domestically manufactured modules approved by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy can be used. This initiative follows a similar project by the Sonpur Division for rooftop solar installations.
