Sharayu Agro Industries: Building a Sustainable Sugar Future in Maharashtra

Sharayu Agro Industries Limited is embarking on an extensive expansion project in Maharashtra, geared towards amplifying their sugar production and renewable energy generation endeavors. With a total investment of ₹56.56 Crore, this initiative adds to their existing infrastructure valued at ₹246.61 Crore, showcasing their commitment to growth and sustainability.

The expansion project revolves around three primary areas Sugar Production: The company aims to augment its sugar unit capacity from 5000 Tons Crushed per Day (TCD) to 7500 TCD, marking a significant 50% increase. This move is strategically aligned with the escalating demand for sugar in the region. Distillery Upgrade: Sharayu Agro Industries Limited plans to substantially enhance its molasses-based distillery, ramping up production from 60 Kilo Litres Per Day (KLPD) to 120 KLPD. This expansion taps into the burgeoning demand for alcohol and its industrial applications, further diversifying their product portfolio. Enhanced Power Generation: To fuel these expansions, the co-generation plant will undergo expansion from 30 MW to 41 MW. This enhancement not only ensures self-sufficiency in energy but also contributes to the local power grid, reinforcing the region's energy infrastructure.

While the expansion promises economic growth and job creation opportunities, thorough assessments of the project's timeline, environmental impact, and community engagement strategies are imperative. Responsible waste management practices, sustainable resource utilization, and transparent communication will be pivotal for fostering long-term success and positive socio-economic impact.
