SLMG Beverages opens new bottling plant in Uttar Pradesh

SLMG Beverages, one of Coca-Cola India's bottling partners, unveiled a new facility in Amethi, Uttar Pradesh, on Tuesday, with a Rs 700 crore investment. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the new bottling factory in Trishundi, Amethi, in the presence of Union Minister and Amethi MP Smriti Irani.

SLMG is to invest approximately Rs 700 crore in this project, which will employ approximately 650 people directly and indirectly in the area.

Furthermore, the factory will generate 2,000 indirect jobs in the surrounding areas, benefiting the local population. It will create beverages in the sparkling, juice, and water categories with sustainable packaging options across six lines. SLMG Beverages currently has seven factories situated across Uttar Pradesh and produces over 4 crore bottles per day.

The Trishundi bottling plant is poised to play a critical role in meeting the growing demand for Coca-Cola products in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, and Madhya Pradesh. The plant has a line that produces ASSP (Affordable Small Sparkling Pack), which was developed specifically for India and has a plastic reduction of approximately 35% in the 250 ml pack.

We made the first Coca-Cola bottle in India when Coca-Cola re-entered the Indian market 30 years ago, and we are happy to continue The Coca-Cola company's tradition and expand our reach to consumers across the region.

SLMG's investments are one step toward laying the framework for our objective of expanding capabilities and having a leading portfolio of brands that positions us to win in the marketplace. Coca-Cola India has 13 bottling partners in India, which run over 40 bottling plants.

Coca-Cola India also has its own bottling company, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB) Ltd. Through its 16 plants, it bottles more than half of Coca-Cola's total volumes in India. Coca-Cola's fifth largest market is India.
