Sweet Success Gets Sustainable: Arihant Sugar's Biofuel Project in Karnataka

Arihant Sugar Industries Limited is embarking on a ₹200 Crore project to establish a new distillery unit at Jainapur, Belagavi district, Karnataka, focusing on molasses-based ethanol production.

This initiative aims to utilize molasses, a byproduct of sugarcane processing, to produce 30 Kilo Litres Per Day (KLPD) of alcohol, contributing to India's ethanol production targets.

In addition to ethanol, the project includes a captive power plant with a capacity of 1 MW, potentially enabling the facility to generate electricity using biogas or other byproducts from the distillery process.

While specifics such as project timeline, alcohol type, and wastewater treatment details are currently undisclosed, monitoring the company's website and relevant news sources may offer insights into project progress and environmental considerations.
