The Residency Signature: Madurai’s New ₹450Cr Luxury Landmark

The Residency Hotels, the hospitality division of Chennai-based Appasamy Group, has expanded its footprint in South India with the launch of The Residency Signature, a luxury hotel and convention centre in Madurai, developed with an investment of approximately ₹450 crore. The project underscores the group’s commitment to catering to the rising demand for premium hospitality, large-scale events, and tourism infrastructure in the region.

Spread across seven acres and encompassing nearly five lakh square feet, the property features 186 elegantly designed guest rooms and suites, along with extensive banquet facilities and a dedicated convention centre. The development is designed to serve a wide range of segments, including meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE), destination weddings, corporate events, and social gatherings.

The launch marks the eighth property in The Residency Hotels portfolio and reflects the group’s confidence in Madurai’s emergence as a key destination for business travel, spiritual tourism, and event-based hospitality. The new hotel is expected to strengthen the city’s hospitality ecosystem, enhance its capacity to host large-scale events, and contribute to local economic growth through tourism and employment generation.
