The Mahindra Group is set to deepen its presence in India’s hospitality sector, with Group CEO and Managing Director Anish Shah announcing an ambitious roadmap for Mahindra Holidays & Resorts India Ltd. (MHRIL) to expand beyond its core vacation ownership model.
Speaking on the company’s long-term vision, Shah described the target of reaching 10,000 rooms by 2030 as a “conservative” estimate, citing the sustained growth in domestic tourism post-pandemic. “Our goal is very clear — to become the number one leisure hospitality player in India,” he stated.
MHRIL is currently exploring various strategic options to diversify its offerings across the broader travel and tourism ecosystem. Shah indicated that the company is in the process of refining these opportunities, which will define its broader participation in the hospitality market.
As part of its growth trajectory, MHRIL aims to add approximately 1,000 rooms in the current financial year. The company’s expansion strategy is driven by strong customer feedback, which consistently highlights positive guest experiences at Mahindra resorts — reinforcing its commitment to scale operations and elevate service offerings.
