Welspun Subsidiary to Invest ₹303.69 Cr in Assam’s Rangia

In a major push toward decentralized industrial expansion, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced the Assam Cabinet’s approval of a ₹303.69 crore manufacturing proposal by Welspun Group subsidiary, Weetek Plastic.

Situated in Rangia, Kamrup district, the upcoming unit is projected to generate employment for nearly 300 individuals while bolstering Assam's regional industrial foundation beyond the state capital. In tandem, the Cabinet sanctioned key amendments to the Assam Mineral Regulation and Dealers Rules, introducing a graded classification system for extracted limestone to streamline royalty collection.
