PG Electroplast Invests ₹1,000 Cr in AP's Sri City

PG Electroplast, through its wholly-owned subsidiary PG Technoplast, has announced an investment of approximately ₹1,000 crore to establish its first manufacturing facility in South India, selecting Sri City in Tirupati district, Andhra Pradesh, after evaluating multiple locations.

The company has acquired 50 acres—its largest land acquisition to date—to develop an integrated manufacturing campus, initially focused on refrigerator production with an annual capacity of 1.2 million units. Commercial operations are expected to commence by December 2026, with plans to expand into air conditioners, washing machines, and other home appliances in subsequent phases.

The project is projected to generate over 500 direct employment opportunities in its initial phase and is expected to create additional jobs in component manufacturing, logistics, and related sectors, significantly boosting the local economy.

Andhra Pradesh’s HRD and IT Minister Nara Lokesh welcomed the investment, citing it as a strong endorsement of the state’s investor-friendly environment. The state government and Sri City authorities will extend support in terms of infrastructure and regulatory clearances to ensure smooth and timely execution of the project.
