The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has entered into partnerships with over 50 leading companies, including ITC, Flipkart, and Mercedes-Benz, to strengthen India’s manufacturing and innovation ecosystem for startups.
This initiative seeks to foster collaboration among large corporates, industry leaders, and unicorns to support manufacturing-focused incubators and innovation hubs. Prominent participants such as boAT, HDFC Capital Advisors, Hero MotoCorp, Zepto, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Paytm, Walmart, and Ather Energy are part of this effort.
The incubators aim to equip startups with critical resources—including shared manufacturing, prototyping, and design facilities—to reduce capital costs and accelerate product development. By facilitating access to these resources, the initiative promotes early-stage growth and innovation-led manufacturing.
Overall, the move underscores the strategic importance of collaboration between startups and established enterprises in driving the expansion and modernization of India’s manufacturing sector.
