TRUMPF Ignites 'Make in India' with State-of-the-Art Pune Facility

TRUMPF, a global leader in industrial machine tools and laser technology, has inaugurated its first manufacturing facility in India, located in Nighoje, Pune, Maharashtra.

Stephan Mayer, CEO of Machine Tools and Member of the Management Board at TRUMPF Germany, described the facility as "an investment in India’s future as a global manufacturing hub," highlighting its role in the company’s broader localisation strategy to better serve India’s rapidly expanding industrial sector.

The facility will initially produce the TruBend 1000 series of bending machines, with plans to begin localised production of the TruLaser 1000 series by 2025. This move is expected to enhance supply chain responsiveness, reduce lead times, and deliver advanced sheet metal processing systems tailored to the needs of Indian manufacturers.

Pradeep Patil, Managing Director of TRUMPF India, stated, "By 2025, all operations at the new plant—including assembly, testing, quality assurance, and logistics—will be fully operational. This is a proud moment for our entire India team."

TRUMPF has invested over €5 million (approximately ₹45 crore) in the new facility, reinforcing its commitment to supporting India’s manufacturing ecosystem and establishing itself as a strategic local partner in the industrial sector.
