Jindal Commissions ₹1,500 Cr. Expansion for White Goods Steel Supply

Jindal (India), part of the BC Jindal Group, has expanded its manufacturing capacity for colour-coated steel sheets and commenced supply to strengthen its support for India’s growing white goods sector.

The expansion is expected to increase the company’s revenue by 20% in the current financial year. The new capacity will supply premium steel sheets to OEM partners serving major brands such as LG, Whirlpool, and Godrej, for products including washing machines and air conditioners. Currently, colour-coated steel sheets account for approximately 70% of Jindal’s total sales, with projections to reach 75% by FY26.

Recently, Jindal commissioned an additional 0.6 million MT capacity at its West Bengal facilities, boosting output by 60%. The ₹1,500 crore investment is poised to significantly enhance sales revenue, particularly as India’s consumer durables industry grows strongly, supported by initiatives such as the PLI scheme.
