JSW Steel to Build $2 Billion Plant in Andhra Pradesh

The Andhra Pradesh government has approved a major industrial development project with the greenlighting of JSW Group's proposal to set up a steel plant in Sunnapurallapalle village, Kadapa district.

The project will be developed in two phases, with a total planned investment of ₹16,350 crore and the potential to create 2,500 jobs. Phase one will involve an investment of ₹4,500 crore, while phase two will see an additional ₹11,850 crore in funding. To facilitate the project, the government has allotted 1,100 acres of land to JSW at a concessional rate.

As per official directives, construction of the first phase must begin by January 2026 and be completed by April 2029. The second phase is expected to commence in January 2031, followed by the start of production operations.

This initiative represents a significant milestone in Andhra Pradesh’s industrial growth strategy, highlighting the state’s ongoing efforts to attract large-scale investments and drive job creation.
