Torrent Leads ₹33,320 Crore Investment Wave in Chhattisgarh

Six Gujarat-based companies, including Torrent Power, Torrent Pharmaceuticals, and Shalby Hospitals, have announced investments totaling ₹33,320 crore in Chhattisgarh, expected to generate employment for over 15,000 people in the state.

Torrent Power leads the investment commitments with ₹22,900 crore earmarked for setting up a 1,600 MW thermal power plant, creating around 5,000 jobs. Torrent Pharmaceuticals plans to invest ₹200 crore in a new pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. Other investors include Onixthree Enersol, Shalby Hospitals, Sapphire Semicon, and the Mala Group.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai noted that the state’s new industrial policy has successfully attracted investments across key sectors such as energy, steel, electronics, and textiles. The government aims to further expand coal and mineral production while strengthening infrastructure to support sustained industrial growth.
