Sambhv Sponge Power Private Limited is planning to expand its integrated steel plant, captive power plant (AFBC) & captive power plant (WHRB) at Sarora, Raipur, Chhattisgarh. The project is estimated to cost Rs 155.21 crore. Integrated steel the plant will have a total capacity of 965,000 TPA.and will increase Captive Power (WHRB)the plant's capacity to 16 MW. Captive power (AFBC) of the plant's capacity to 14 MW.
Waste Heat Recovery Boilers (WHRBs) are a type of power plant that utilizes the waste heat from industrial processes to generate electricity. WHRBs are a more efficient way to generate electricity than traditional power plants, as they can convert up to 30% of waste heat into electricity.
Circulating Fluidized Bed Combustion (AFBC) is a type of power plant that uses a bed of sand or other particles to suspend and combust fuel. AFBC boilers are more efficient than traditional boilers, as they can operate at lower temperatures and pressures.
The expansion of the captive power plant will allow Sambhv Sponge Power Private Limited to reduce its reliance on the grid and generate its own electricity. This will save the company money and help to ensure a more reliable supply of electricity.
This project is a major development for the region and is expected to boost the local economy. The expansion of the plant will create jobs and provide much-needed steel for infrastructure development.
The DRI Kiln will have a capacity of 315,000 TPA after its expansion.
An increase in production capacity at the MS Billet facility to a total of 450,000 TPA
Building a brand-new rolling mill with a production capacity of 350,000 tons per year
The capacity of the Ferro Alloys factory will be increased to 19,000 TPA after the expansion.
The establishment of a brand-new Fly Ash Bricks facility with a production capacity of 115,500 TPA.
As on November 2023, The project is now in the stage of construction being started. The completion of the project's work has reached the 20% mark. The work on the project will be finished by December of 2024.
