Shakti Pumps Secures ₹1,037 Crore MSEDCL Order for Solar Pumps

Shakti Pumps (India) has received a Letter of Empanelment from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd. (MSEDCL) to deploy 34,720 Off-Grid DC Solar Photovoltaic Water Pumping Systems (SPWPS) across the state.

The project, valued at ₹1,037 crore (inclusive of GST), falls under the Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana and the PM-KUSUM B scheme. The scope of work includes the design, manufacturing, supply, transportation, installation, testing, and commissioning of the SPWPS units.

The empanelment is valid for one year, with the entire project to be completed within this timeframe. Each pump installation must be completed within 60 days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed (NTP), work order, or Joint Site Report (JSR) approval by the respective circle office.

The initiative aims to provide farmers with sustainable, off-grid solar-powered irrigation solutions, helping reduce dependence on grid electricity and diesel while promoting renewable energy adoption in agriculture across Maharashtra.
