Bansal Wire Industries is set to invest ₹600 crore in a greenfield project in Sanand, Gujarat, featuring a 1.8 lakh-tonne induction-based steel plant and a 60,000-tonne low-carbon and stainless steel wire manufacturing unit. The company has acquired 42 acres near Tata Nagar for ₹80–90 crore, with project completion targeted by September 2027.
This facility will enable backward integration by allowing the import of steel scrap and in-house steel production for wire manufacturing. The investment follows a ₹550 crore expansion that doubled the company's steel wire manufacturing capacity to 6 lakh tonnes across five units in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana.
Recently, Bansal Wire raised ₹750 crore through an IPO to support its capital and operational expenditures. With these developments, it has become the first Indian company to manufacture steel tyre cords—previously imported—joining Germany’s Bekaert as the only global producers.
At its Dadri plant, capacity will increase from 3.6 lakh to 4.2 lakh TPA in the first half of the fiscal year. The facility manufactures specialised wires including induction, oil-tempered, brass-coated hose-reinforced, low-relaxation pre-stressed concrete, and tyre cord wires. These products serve high-growth sectors such as automotive, agriculture, construction, power, and engineering, catering to both domestic and international markets.
