The Central government has announced that states can begin submitting applications from June 1 for the development of plug-and-play industrial parks under the ₹33,660 crore Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojna (BHAVYA) scheme.
Approved by the Union Cabinet in March, the scheme aims to establish 100 world-class industrial parks over a six-year period from 2026–27 to 2031–32.
According to operational guidelines issued by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), the first phase will shortlist 50 proposals through two rounds of selection. The first application window will remain open from June 1 to July 31, 2026, with up to 20 proposals expected to be selected. The second round, scheduled from August 1 to September 30, 2026, will allow states that were not shortlisted initially to submit revised proposals.
The scheme is designed to strengthen domestic manufacturing capacity and mandates a minimum requirement of 100 acres of contiguous land for non-hilly states. For hilly states, northeastern regions, union territories, and smaller states with populations below one crore, the minimum land requirement has been reduced to 25 acres.
BHAVYA aims to create investment-ready industrial infrastructure that enables both domestic and global manufacturers to establish operations through integrated and seamless industrial ecosystems.
