US media and technology titan Comcast is set to establish a Global Capability Center (GCC) in Hyderabad, marking a significant expansion of its global operations. The new center will focus on advancing unified communications products and solutions, enhancing Comcast’s Managed Solutions and Connectivity offerings.
The announcement follows a key meeting between Telangana’s IT Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu and Comcast’s senior executives, including Executive Vice-President Mel Penna, Chief Technology Officer Rick Riobolli, and Chief Information Officer Mike Crisafulli, during the minister’s recent visit to the US.
According to the Chief Minister’s Office, Comcast’s move to Hyderabad may also open doors for Universal Studios to explore collaborations with Tollywood’s thriving film industry, highlighting potential cross-industry synergies.
Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu, currently traveling with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to the US and South Korea, emphasized that this development represents a major milestone for Hyderabad’s telecom and media sectors. The GCC is expected to strengthen Hyderabad’s position as a key player in global technology and media.
The establishment of Comcast’s GCC aligns with Hyderabad’s growing reputation as a hub for technology and innovation, promising new opportunities for the city’s expanding tech ecosystem.
