Tata Motors has launched its eighth Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facility (RVSF) in Kolkata, reinforcing its dedication to sustainable mobility and the circular economy. Named Re.Wi.Re – Recycle with Respect, the facility has been established in collaboration with Selladale Synergies India and is capable of dismantling up to 21,000 end-of-life vehicles annually.
This advanced facility is designed to handle all categories of vehicles—passenger cars, commercial vehicles, two-wheelers, and three-wheelers—across all brands. It features fully digital, paperless operations and utilizes cell-type dismantling for two- and three-wheelers and commercial vehicles, while line-type dismantling is used for passenger vehicles. Dedicated stations ensure the safe disposal of hazardous components such as batteries, tyres, oils, and gases.
Marking Tata Motors’ third facility in eastern India, the Kolkata RVSF enhances regional access to environmentally responsible vehicle scrapping. With other operational centres in Jaipur, Bhubaneswar, Surat, Chandigarh, Delhi NCR, Pune, and Guwahati, Tata Motors is steadily expanding its nationwide scrapping infrastructure.
Rajesh Kaul, Vice President of Tata Motors, commented, “The inauguration of West Bengal’s first Re.Wi.Re and our eighth facility in India marks a major milestone in strengthening our vehicle scrapping ecosystem.”
