Grinding Towards Success: CUMI Opens ₹83 Crore High-Tech Facility

Carborundum Universal has started commercial production of cutting and grinding wheels (thin wheels) at its newly commissioned facility in Hosur.

With this addition, the company’s total annual production capacity for these wheels in India has increased from 45 million units to more than 90 million units, according to an official statement.

The Hosur plant, set up with an investment of ₹83 crore, is projected to achieve a turnover of around ₹160 crore at peak capacity utilisation. The products manufactured at this facility will cater to diverse industrial sectors such as fabrication, general engineering, and construction.
