Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has sanctioned ₹993.64 crore for the major upgrade of the Rangpo–Ranipool section of NH-10 in Sikkim. Serving as a critical lifeline connecting Sikkim and Gangtok to the rest of India, the project will transform the existing corridor into a resilient two-lane highway. Designed for the challenging Himalayan terrain, the upgrade will feature advanced slope-protection measures, tunnels, and viaducts to prevent landslip disruptions—ensuring safer, year-round, and faster travel for locals, tourists, and freight traffic.
