IND Synergy Limited is coming up with a new Ferro-Alloys Manufacturing Unit Project at Raigarh, Chhattisgarh. The project is expected to have a production capacity of 15,000 MT of Ferro-Alloys per annum.
Ferro-alloys are essential raw materials used in the production of steel. The demand for ferro-alloys is growing globally due to the increasing demand for steel. The project will help to meet the growing demand for ferro-alloys in India and around the world.
Ferroalloys are a group of iron-based alloys that contain a significant proportion of one or more other elements, such as manganese, silicon, chromium, aluminum, or titanium. They are essential raw materials in the steelmaking process, as they impart specific properties to steel, such as strength, ductility, corrosion resistance, and heat resistance.
Ferroalloys are typically produced by carbothermic reduction, which involves the reaction of oxides with carbon (as coke) in the presence of iron. The specific production process depends on the type of ferroalloy being produced. For example, ferromanganese is produced by smelting a mixture of manganese ore, iron ore, and coke in a submerged arc furnace.
As on November 2023, The project is now in the stage of receiving approvals. The project has received all necessary clearances. By the end of the year 2023, development on the project will have begun.
