Powering Up: Lloyds Metals Clears Major DRI Expansion

Lloyds Metals and Energy has announced a strategic expansion of its Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) production capabilities in Maharashtra. The Board of Directors has greenlit capacity enhancements at both the Ghugus (815,000 TPA) and Konsari (92,400 TPA) facilities, pushing the company's total DRI production capacity past 900,000 TPA. Rather than building new greenfield sites, this growth is being driven by debottlenecking measures and the optimization of existing technological and operational parameters. This initiative aligns with the company’s broader vision to fortify its position across the steel-making value chain, maximize the yield of its iron ore reserves, and enhance value addition through forward integration.
