Vighneshwar Ispat Private Limited intends to expand its rolling mill initiative in Charodha Village, Dharsiwa, Chhattisgarh. The expansion project will be concluded in two phases and is estimated to cost approximately Rs. 24.25 crores. In the first phase of the expansion project, 3 x 8 MT Induction Furnaces will be upgraded to 3 x 10 MT, and 2 x 12 MT Induction Furnaces will be installed. The second phase of the expansion project will involve the modernization of the existing 58,656 TPA rolling mill (hot charge to reheating furnace heating) and the establishment of a new 1,486,500 TPA rolling mill (via hot charging). The expansion endeavor is anticipated to generate employment for approximately 100 individuals.
The initiative is also anticipated to stimulate the regional economy.Pioneer Enviro Laboratories & Consultants Private Limited has compiled the environmental impact assessment report (EIAR) for the expansion project. The EIAR has evaluated the project's potential environmental impacts and proposed mitigation measures to reduce these impacts. The project's primary environmental impacts are:The endeavor will contribute to air pollution by emitting SO2, NOx, and particulate matter. These pollutants can cause respiratory issues, cardiovascular disease, and other health issues. The endeavor will generate wastewater that is contaminated with chemicals and pollutants. This wastewater has the potential to contaminate the neighboring water bodies, causing harm to aquatic life and human health. The endeavor will generate noise pollution as a result of the plant's operations. This noise pollution can result in hearing loss and other health complications.
The endeavor will necessitate a change in land use, which could displace people and wildlife. The EIAR has proposed mitigation measures to reduce these environmental impacts as much as possible. These measures consist of:Installing pollution control devices to decrease air pollution emissions. Before effluent is released into the environment, it is treated to remove contaminants.Noise pollution can be reduced by utilizing noise-reducing apparatus.Compensating individuals and animals impacted by the land use change. The environmental approval procedure is still in progress.
After considering the EIAR and other relevant factors, the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change (MoEFCC) will determine whether to grant environmental clearance for the project. If the project receives environmental clearance, Vighneshwar Ispat Private Limited will be required to adhere to the clearance's conditions. These conditions will ensure that the endeavor does not significantly harm the environment. Here are some of the project's most important characteristics:Localization: Charodha Village, Dharsiwa, ChhattisgarhCost of the project: Rs. 24.25 billionEnvironmental impact assessment (EIA) report compiled by Pioneer Enviro Laboratories & Consultants Private Limited.Continuing environmental clearance procedureIf environmental clearance is granted, the undertaking must adhere to the clearance's conditions.
