Vision for Bihar: Gautam Adani Launches ₹150Cr Eye Care Initiative

Gautam Adani, Chairman of Adani Group, has launched a ₹150 crore Rural Vision Care Initiative in Mastichak near Patna, Bihar, aimed at developing one of India’s largest rural eye care networks.

The initiative is being implemented through a partnership between the Adani Foundation and the Akhand Jyoti Foundation to expand access to affordable vision care in underserved regions. As part of the programme, the Adani Centre for Eye (ACE) will provide advanced and affordable eye treatment and surgical care, while the Adani Training in Ophthalmic Medicine (ATOM) will focus on developing skilled manpower for rural eye care services.

In addition, the Adani Foundation plans to establish a 200-bed hospital in Pirpainti in Bhagalpur district, close to the group’s proposed 2,400 MW thermal power project, to strengthen healthcare infrastructure in eastern Bihar.

To expand these healthcare and vision care initiatives nationwide, Gautam Adani also announced an additional commitment of ₹500 crore and the creation of the “Adani Akhand Jyoti Foundation.” The combined investment, including operational expenditure for the regional and national programmes, is expected to exceed ₹700 crore.
