Madhya Pradesh State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA) has granted environmental clearance for the Raghavpur Multipurpose Project in Dindori district, marking a significant step forward for the project’s construction.
The project has been awarded to Afcons Infrastructure by the Narmada Valley Development Authority, Government of Madhya Pradesh. It will involve the construction of a dam and a 25 MW hydroelectric powerhouse on the Narmada River. Additionally, the project will feature the development of a pressurized piped irrigation system designed to deliver water directly to farmers’ fields. This modern micro-irrigation system will cover an irrigable command area of 17,587 hectares, significantly enhancing agricultural productivity in the region.
Satish Paretkar, Director of Hydro & Underground Water Supply at Afcons Infrastructure, emphasized, “This project exemplifies our commitment to nation-building and sustainable infrastructure development. By combining hydropower generation with an advanced irrigation network, the project will not only boost agricultural productivity but also contribute to clean energy generation, bringing substantial benefits to the communities in Madhya Pradesh.”
The project is expected to utilize Afcons’ extensive engineering expertise, ensuring sustainable and timely delivery of outcomes.
