Madhya Pradesh: Powering Up as India's Next Green Energy Hub

Madhya Pradesh is advancing its efforts to become a major renewable-energy hub, with Chief Minister Mohan Yadav underscoring the importance of private-sector involvement.

Inaugurating three new compressed biogas (CBG) plants in Bhopal, Indore, and Satna—developed by Reliance Green Energy—CM Yadav highlighted the state’s transition toward clean and sustainable power. These facilities will convert organic waste, including agricultural residue and cattle dung, into CBG, helping cut carbon emissions and reduce problems such as stubble burning.

Aligned with India’s goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2070, Reliance has invested ₹700 crore in six CBG plants that will collectively generate 45,000 tons of biogas each year. The Bhopal plant, the largest among them, will produce 22.5 tons of biogas daily and provide employment to more than 250 people.
