Attero, India’s largest critical minerals company and a global leader in urban mining, has announced an investment of approximately ₹150 crore to expand its recycling and research and development (R&D) network.
The expansion plan includes the establishment of new e-waste recycling facilities in Pune, Bengaluru, and Faridabad, a copper recycling plant in Reengus, Rajasthan, and the upgradation of its R&D Centre of Excellence in Greater Noida. With India generating over 3.8 million tonnes of e-waste annually, Attero aims to further formalise the recycling ecosystem by enabling safer metal recovery processes and enhanced material traceability. Following the expansion, the company’s total processing capacity will rise to 244,000 tonnes per year.
The new facilities will deploy advanced technologies such as robotic dismantling lines, automated battery cutting systems, and energy-efficient operations. The expansion is expected to create between 800 and 1,000 jobs across Attero’s various operations.
Founded in 2008, Attero specialises in the recovery of more than 22 critical metals, and its continued investments reinforce its leadership in sustainable resource recovery and urban mining.
