Global Health Ltd., widely recognized as Medanta, has announced its strategic entry into the North East by establishing a 400-bed super specialty hospital in Guwahati, Assam. This marks Medanta’s first venture in the region, aimed at transforming the healthcare landscape and providing world-class medical services to over 50 million underserved individuals.
The Board of Directors has approved the acquisition of three acres of land from Assam Electricity Grid Corporation for Rs 30 crore (excluding registration and related costs). Strategically located on National Highway 27, the site offers excellent connectivity across Assam and neighboring states.
With a projected total investment of approximately Rs 500 crore, the facility will offer over 20 super specialties, equipped with advanced medical technology, transplant services, and robotic surgery. This initiative reaffirms Medanta’s commitment to expanding its presence and delivering high-quality, accessible healthcare throughout India.
