On 15 July 2025, Haryana Health Minister Arti Singh Rao announced a major statewide initiative to upgrade 785 medical facilities, including Primary Health Centres (PHCs), Community Health Centres (CHCs), sub-health centres, and civil hospitals.

Addressing a press conference in Panchkula, the Minister stated that administrative approval has been granted for 534 facilities, with coordination ongoing with the Public Works Department (PWD) to expedite construction and renovation. She also noted significant progress in the development of First Referral Units (FRUs), which have more than doubled from 41 in 2014 to 87 in 2025, with more FRUs in the pipeline to expand access to specialist care.

As part of a broader infrastructure drive, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini will soon inaugurate health projects worth ₹2,256 crore across all districts. Additionally, foundation stones will be laid for new projects totaling ₹594 crore.

To bolster nursing education, the state is also building six new government nursing colleges. The Rewari Government Nursing College has already been inaugurated, and construction of the remaining five is over 90% complete, according to Minister Rao.
