Aequs Infra to Invest ₹2,000 CR in Massive South India Expansion

Aequs Infra, a prominent developer of large-format industrial clusters, is set to embark on a significant expansion strategy, with plans to develop 12 million sq. ft. of warehousing and manufacturing infrastructure across Tier-1 and Tier-2 cities in South India.

The expansion will involve an investment of over ₹2,000 crore, with an average construction cost of ₹2,000 per sq. ft. “We are focusing on developing 50–100 acre industrial and logistics parks, with a strong emphasis on manufacturing to drive our next phase of growth,” said Shyam Kalyanasundaram, newly appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO). He added that 3–4 million sq. ft. will be developed under built-to-suit models in Tier-2 cities, with the remainder in Tier-1 locations.

Founded by Aravind Melligeri, Aequs Infra currently operates three flagship clusters: the Belagavi Aerospace Cluster, Koppal Toy Cluster, and Hubballi Durable Goods Cluster. Its client portfolio includes global and domestic leaders such as Airbus, Boeing, Hasbro, and Wonderchef. The company has also secured government approval for a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for electronics components in Hubballi.

Industry experts see Aequs Infra as well-positioned to capitalize on India’s growing manufacturing ecosystem, with rising demand for high-quality industrial and logistics infrastructure in the southern region.
