Varuna’s Big Day: CM Siddaramaiah’s ₹323 Crore Development Blitz

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on January 18 inaugurated development works worth ₹323.04 crore in the Varuna Assembly constituency in Mysuru district.

Addressing an event organised by the Mysuru district administration and the Zilla Panchayat at Kupya village, the Chief Minister said the projects form part of a broader and ongoing development drive in the region. He noted that over the past three years, development works worth a total of ₹1,932 crore have been launched in the Varuna constituency, including ₹501 crore in 2024 and ₹1,108 crore in 2025.

CM Siddaramaiah emphasised that the government continues to prioritise infrastructure development despite allocating nearly ₹1.15 lakh crore towards the implementation of five guarantee schemes. Among the key initiatives announced was the laying of the foundation stone for a ₹100-crore de-addiction hospital, to be developed on the lines of the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS).

Reaffirming his commitment to improving healthcare and infrastructure, the Chief Minister said the projects would significantly benefit residents of Mysuru district.
